So up until this week I could say that I haven't been stressed about the wedding planning, but I am stressed now.
The wedding ceremony location is set, but the reception is what is giving me trouble. I would be perfectly happy totally just skip having a reception all together. But, I think it would be a little rude to have family drive in from out of town to see a ceremony that is going to last not even 30 mins and not feed them. I doubt half the people would even come if there wasn't food involved -haha- just kidding.
But I've been doing alot of thinking, and I want something personal and meaningful.
I would be content with after the ceremony- whoever wanted to go out to dinner went out to dinner and we all just ate, drank and be merry.
So what we are thinking now, is to have it at the beach house. The beach house has always held a very dear place in my heart. The only problem is that I am concerned that there wont be enough room for the 50 people. That and also now we would have to worry about renting tables and chairs and finding a caterer and set up and take down blahhhhhh. You know, the stuff that would be taken care of if you were to go to a banquet hall or something and pay them to do it. Well I can't cut down the guest list past 40 because I can't very well invite one set of aunt and uncles with out inviting the others. (Why do people have to have so many children?!?! hahah) So now it's down to measuring.... we are going to measure the porch and the long hall of the beach house and see if it will work. Because weather permitting it will be outside, and backup plan- the main hall. So we shall see!
But besides that things are good. Mom has her dress picked out, I picked out all of the bridesmaids dresses and colors (I want them each wearing different styles and colors). Katie has already went and picked her favorite dress and color... Now Beka just needs to go try hers on and pick one, decorations are chosen, flowers chosen, favors chosen, songs picked, musician picked, i designed some save the dates- but I want to redo them so that they aren't so formal looking. It is just down to picking a place for the dang reception.... oh and a photographer and cake.*sighhhh*

First Blog!!
Yay! How exciting! A new blog! haha. Like my "About" section says, I started this blog so that not only do I have something to look back on to remember all of my wedding planning, but also so that my friends and family (yes, that would be you reading this :] ) may track my progress or see what I am up to wedding wise if you want to.
So, where to begin? Well, we have been engaged since April 2009, so that is a little over 9 months now we have been engaged. Our wedding is scheduled for January 14th, 2011. When we first got engaged I was like, "Oh we have plenty of time to plan! " Well, all of the things Rob and I originally thought that we wanted the nine months ago (such as: a wedding in July, on the beach with our colors being tangerine and watermelon) have changed. We have changed our minds and now want to have a January wedding (the day of our anniversary, for those who are wondering "why that day?") in a beautiful courtyard in St.Augustine with our colors being "peacock inspired" -purples and blues.
So that is about the extent of what is official so far...What I'm trying to say is...I first thought "We have so much time to plan" and now here it is less than a year away and it seems like we have barely even scratched the surface of things that need to be planned! I'm not stressing or anything though.I know we can get it done. I don't want your typical elaborate traditional wedding so that takes out ALOT of things that need to be booked (Dj and such). And I REFUSE to turn bridezilla. haha.
But the major things are actually decided already. Date, time, place and colors. I totally have my awesome mom ,who also happens to be my Matron/Maid of Honor, to thank for helping us choose a place. Since we are stuck here in Tampa, she went and scouted out places for us. Thanks again Mom! =]
But once this quarter is over, (all i have left is my internship!) I am going to be all about making the plans! One of the first things is for me to design our save the dates!
Well, It's 4 am here, and I have a presentation at school tomorrow... I have alot more to write about, but I can barely keep my eyes open...I am looking forward to continue blogging!!!!
Oh and before I forget, I have posted the link to our wedding website as well as my bookmarking site up in the links area! Check them out!
